One Happy Family.

Joshua's return

So my boy is home from his mission. When I saw him approach the doors when getting off the plane I couldnt believe the feelings of how proud I was of him. I have certainly missed him, but having him serve an honourable mission is so wonderful. Now for the next three.
After being released and then going to sizzler for a late lunch we headed off and arrived home at about 7 30pm.
We sat around for a while just talking and trying to catch up. Josh was so out of it. Feeling a bit lost I guess and probably a bit teary. Anyway I dont think it will take him long to catch up as the very next morning at 5am he was out to work with his father and I have only just seen him again now. His words "Hi Mum can I borrow the car to go to Hungry Jacks?" And so it begins.
We have also just had our visiting teaching workshop and formal dinner at the chapel and what a hoot. Went off so well.
Thyrone Blissett cooked and washed up, along with the help of the missionaries and my boys. We are all so had it. But it was worth the work and effort.
I must also mention that i have found so many friends in the past 6 months with facebook and these blogs that I feel so blessed to have good friends. Its a blast catching up with them all.
Well I am off to bed to rest my very weary body.

Well only 8 more sleeps until son #1 gets home. Yep he has served an honorable mission and we are so proud of him. He has served two years in the Melbourne East mission and loved every moment of it. Cant wait until he's home now. His brothers are just as eager to see him also. I will have to get in and get some good family photos done. We have never had any done and I really regret this.
Gee i wish Tristen would just go to bed, he tires me out sooooo much. So full of energy, in fact I think he has stolen mine.
We are looking after my father's dog, Biddy and this morning when I went down to her she was covered in feathers. She had literally ripped her bedding apart and had a great time. Yes she has an old feather down doona. I shd have got some photos but all I could was laugh and I was late for work. Good job Michael cleaned it up.

Can you believe it, Tristen went to Movie World yesterday (being show day) and came home with change. $30. And then Jesse went to the show yesterday and he also came home with change. $50. I must be teaching them something......
Gary has been away all week in Emerald doing a re-stumping job and is on his way home. Be home in a couple of hours. I really did miss him. I dont know how people can live by themselves, even though I had the boys at home, its not the same.

I have to tell this amazing story.
Three years ago our Son Michael had a serious accident in Toowoomba where he hit a lady on a motorbike and nearly killed her. As a result she has ended up with some physical problems and so a court case has been happening for three years.
This lady had her jugular cut through and its amazing that she is still alive. She was in intensive care for some time and in a coma for a couple of weeks.
It was a couple of days after the accident that I was in the kitchen cooking dinner at about 6pm when all of a sudden I had the urge to stop everything and get Michael to write a letter of apology and take this up to her as well as a bunch of flowers. When Michael got to the hospital he was met by a nurse at the door who said that he was not allowed in but that she could take the letter and flowers to her and put them by her bedside. So with tears in his eyes he told this nurse what had happened and how sorry he was and wished that he could take it all back.
Meanwhile while he was telling the nurse all of this, the lady's son was behind him in the waiting room listening in. This guy was going to have Michael's guts for garters previous to this and when he witnessed what Michael was doing, his heart softened and he walked over and shook his hand.
Now when Michael had to appear in court on Wednesday for the final time he was amazed at the proceedings. The Judge took his licence off of him for 2 years and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment, fully suspended. The reason the jail term was suspended was because the judge had rarely come across a person who was so compassionate to the victim. She was duely impressed and told Michael so.
So the moral to the story is listen to those promptings that you have and follow them through, it may just change your future..

Well its Thursday 14th May 2009 and not much has been posted to this blog. Since creating this page I have found an old friend, Kym who has allowed me to view her blog. So, I have decided to do as she has and keep up with the goings and comings of my family. What a wonderful way to keep a (very public) journal. Just got to remember its public.
  • Josh has only about 10 weeks to go on his mission, whooohoo. Cant wait for him to return. He has really been a wonderful missionary and achieved marvelous results. We are so proud of him.
  • Michael is now living in Brisbane and hoping to go on his mission at the end of this year or thereabouts, pending a court case that needs to come to a close.
  • Samuel, our 3rd son, well he's busy doing what they do best in Heaven.
  • Jesse is 15 1/2 and hating school. But not trouble getting him there or to seminary.
  • Tristen is now a teenager....yay! 13. Still a tiny tot though and hoping to grow some more. Eat more food Tristen, it helps.
  • Gary is working for his brother ken and getting older by the day/hour. Still has physical limitations with his back.
  • I am still at the scrapbook shop and working close to 34 hours a week. Come home - do the laundry - cook the dinner - play on facebook - cook some more dinner - play on facebook - do some more laundry - place on facebook - finish dinner - and then ...well whatever. My life thus far. Pretty boring hey!
So I will endevour to keep this blog up and inform my good friends of it.
